Following King Charles’ keynote speech in the Australian parliament, Senator Lidia Thorpe accused the British monarchy of committing genocide against their people.
Thorpe further called for the return of Indigenous lands and things that were stolen and mentioned the need for a treaty, referencing past actions involving Indigenous communities.
The session resumed shortly after the interruption.
