RS Prasad: Cabinet agrees for National Security Directive on Telecom sector

The Union Minister of Communication, Electronics and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “The cabinet is meeting held on Wednesday, has accord for the approval of national security directive on the telecommunications sector.”

“Under the provision of this, the directive will maintain the integrity of the supply chain security. The government will declare the list of trusted sources and trusted products for the benefit of the telecom service providers,” he added.

“The list of the equipment will be covered under the directive and the methodology of the trusted products will be advised by the designated authority to the national cybersecurity coordinator. The Providers are required to connect the new devices,” Prasad added.
