Eager to join the e-commerce race, Snapchat, on Monday, announced its partnership with Amazon that will allow Snap users to shop directly using the messaging app. The product search on Amazon will be enabled through the Snapchat app’s camera.
The visual search function will allow Snapchat users to point the app’s camera at an item in the store and purchase it there and then.
“When the item or barcode is recognized, an Amazon card will appear on-screen, surfacing a link for that product or similar ones available,” the company said in its blog post.
