Coronavirus outbreak: Amazon withdraws from MWC 2020 events

Due to the recent outbreak of novel coronavirus that has now spread in 27 countries and some territories, the American e-commerce giant Amazon has announced to withdraw its appearance from the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2020 event.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Amazon told that “Due to the outbreak and continued concerns about the new coronavirus, the company has decided to withdraw from exhibiting and participating in the Mobile World Congress 2020 event.”

Earlier this week, South Korea’s electronics giant LG Electronics, Ericsson, and US chipmaker Nvidia also announced to skip the event on safety grounds.

According to Reuters reports the death from the novel coronavirus outbreak has reached 908, and 40,171 confirmed cases of infections.
