With the effort to secure the people from the recent outbreak of coronavirus in the state, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray has announced the complete closure of all non-essential workplaces in four major cities.

Briefing the press on the measures taken by the government to tackle the outbreak, Thackeray on Friday said that “All the non-essential workforce expect essential supplies to shop in Mumbai, MMR Region, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and Nagpur will be closed from midnight of March 20 to March 31.”

“The government offices will also operate with percent attendance instead of percent, which was announced earlier,” he said.

Speaking on the halting of bus and train services, he said, “There is no plan to stop railways and bus services in Mumbai.”

“But if people do not follow the self-discipline by avoiding unnecessary travels then we would have to take the harsh decision to stop the bus and train services in Mumbai,” he said.
