The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has signed a defense contract worth 5 billion dirhams (approx $1.3 billion) from local and international companies.

Speaking on the development, Spokesperson of UAE Defense Force, Staff Brigadier General Mohammed al-Hassani said, “The UAE armed force has signed 5 billion dirhams in defense contract with local and international companies at the Idex defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi.”

“The majority of contracts were signed with local companies,” Hassani added.
