Lockdown 4.0: Nirmala Sitharaman says, “Government bars global tenders for procurements up to Rs 200 crore”

Briefing the media on the Rs 20 lakh crore economic stimulus package, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday said, “The global tenders will be disallowed for government procurement up to Rs 200 crore.”

Sitharaman said, “The step to disallow global tenders is because the majority of MSMEs were unable to supply to their mother units, who were serving as ancillaries this while and conditions became more difficult due to COVID-19.”
