OnePlus co-founder secures $7 million for his new venture

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pie has secured $7 million in series seed round funding for its new venture that will be launched early next year.

The new round funding was raised from friends and private investors including Tony Fadell (Principal at Future Shape), Casey Neistal (YouTuber), Kevin Lin (Co-founder of Twitch), Steven Huffman (CEO of Reddit), Liam Casey (Co-founder & CEO of PCH), Paddy Cosgrave (Founder of Web Summit), and Josh Buckley (CEO of Product Hunt).

“The seed funding will be used for setting its head office in London, Hiring of staffs, and for financing its ongoing product and development efforts,” the statement said.

Speaking on the Fundraise, Carl Pie said, “I am deeply grateful and tremendously excited to have a friend of this Calibre supporting us in building what’s next. We plan on moving aggressively against our vision and cant wait to see how the market will react.”

Commenting on the investment, Josh Buckley, CEO of Product Hunt said, “Carl spent the last decade making products that millions of people love. He deeply understands what consumers want, and I can’t wait for the world to see what he has in store next.”
