Social media sensation Khaby Lame, the world’s most-followed TikTok creator with over 162 million followers, was briefly detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Thursday for overstaying his visa.
The 25-year-old Italian national, globally known for his humorous silent videos mocking overcomplicated life hacks, was released the same day and has since voluntarily left the United States, according to officials. Lame, who also serves as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador, has not issued a public statement about the incident.
His detention comes amid a broader immigration enforcement drive under President Donald Trump’s administration, which has recently intensified deportation efforts and sparked legal challenges nationwide.
Lame, who rose to fame for his relatable expressions and viral content, has earned millions through brand endorsements and collaborations, cementing his status as one of the most influential digital creators in the world.
