Tech Mahindra announces ‘COVID Support Policy’ for Families of Employees Succumbing to COVID

Tech Mahindra Ltd has today announced the rollout of the ‘COVID Support Policy’ for families of employees succumbing to COVID-19

The special HR policy will provide job, learning, and development, and educational opportunities to immediate family members of employees who succumb/ have succumbed to COVID on or after 1st April 2020.

The ‘COVID Support Policy’ will provide benefits, in addition to the support Tech Mahindra already gives through life insurance, medical insurance and other statutory benefits in line with policies and local laws across the globe. All of these can be availed by immediate family (spouse, parents, children and siblings up to 21 years of age). 

Highlights of the policy –

Job opportunities at Tech Mahindra for family members eligible to be employed based on the fulfillment of key criteria:

Opportunity to upskill through Tech Mahindra Learning Resources & career counseling to enable the family to earn a sustainable income to support their livelihood.

Reimbursing education expenses up to standard 12th or equivalent for the children of the associate/s who have succumbed to COVID.

Grief counseling by expert counselors for families to ensure wellness support and assistance, should they feel the need for the same

Speaking on the development, Harshvendra Soin, Global Chief People Officer & Head of Marketing, Tech Mahindra, said, “People are at the heart of everything we do, and as a part of our commitment towards helping the Tech Mahindra family and the society at large ride over these difficult times, we are rolling the ‘COVID Support Policy’ to ensure a sustainable income and livelihood for families of our associates who succumb/ or have succumbed to COVID. As part of our #ResolveToRISE initiative, we pledge to continue to stand together with our associates and their families to help them get through these difficult times.”

As part of Tech Mahindra’s initiative, #ResolveToRISE, Tech Mahindra has a 360-degree approach to employee well-being with a huge emphasis on mental health and wellness programs. The company recently appointed a ‘Wellness Officer’ to institutionalize the holistic wellness of all employees, partners, and vendors amidst the COVID crisis.  

Additionally, Tech Mahindra has collaborated with leading hospitals to convert some of its campuses into COVID care units and has also launched an exclusive COVID-19 vaccination drive for its employees and their dependent family members across India. Further, the company will also be covering the cost of vaccination for its employees globally, including the third-party employees.
