Signzy appoints Sabir Shaikh as VP — Business Development for EMEA region

Banking workflow automation platform Signzy has announced the appointment of Sabir Shaikh as Vice President – Business Development (EMEA) to strengthen its leadership team and support the company’s expansion plans in new and developing markets. 

The announcement follows Signzy’s recent entry into UAE in strategic partnership with Dubai’s Seed Group.

“Shaikh’s appointment will power Signzy to build wider reach and visibility in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), while also educating and empowering businesses in the region to automate back-office operations and adopt frictionless onboarding services in a compliant and regulated manner,” Signzy in its statement said

“As an accomplished marketing veteran with more than two decades of experience in building products and brands in emerging markets, Shaikh will drive the overall strategy, strengthen Signzy’s reach, and accelerate the company’s global business footprint,” the statement added.

Speaking on the appointment, Ankit Ratan, Co-founder & CEO, Signzy said, “We are delighted to have Sabir on board as we enter the next exciting chapter and tap into the increasing demand for digital financial infrastructure that improves access, transparency, and speed of delivery in Europe and the Middle East. Sabir’s deep knowledge of the region and expertise in strategy development will be instrumental in driving our expansion goals and pursuing growth opportunities.”

Shaikh brings with him extensive industry knowledge, a sharp focus on creating winning business strategies, managing consumer and business-focused operations for blue-chip and startup companies.

Commenting on the joining of Signzy’s board, Sabir Shaikh, Vice President – Business Development (EMEA), Signzy said, “I am thrilled to be a part of Signzy’s mission to revolutionize customer and vendor onboarding for regulated ecosystems. We aspire to make this big in the EMEA region, starting from Gulf Cooperation Council.”

In his most recent role, Shaikh was leading CleverTap’s Business Development in the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) region where he builds the brand from scratch and positioned it among the top three preferred players in the GCC region. He has also worked with Netcore solutions, heading their ‘Transactional Emailing’ business globally
