Speaking to the press on Saturday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, “Fuel price hike is a vexatious issue in which no answer except for fall in fuel price.”
“Both center and states had been generating revenue through retail sales of petrol and diesel,” she said.

“To bring down the fuel price at the reasonable level for the consumer, the center and state should come at a table and discuss,” she added.
