Mumbai based alternative digital university, AltUni by InsideIIM has raised $0.5 million in funding from a group of angel investors including Amit Gupta, Mukesh Maniar, Rahul Gupta, Gautam Gurnani, Rajit Desai, Vandana Serrao, Saloni Doshi, Suhani Doshi, and from Saurav Tibrewal.
“The capital raised will be deployed for further developing its online platform, advanced learning programs, and for strengthening community engagement,” the statement said.
Launched in 2020, AltUni provides short modules of immersive online learning courses instead of remote learning programs.
AltUni has partnered with companies such as Hindustan Unilever, TATACliq, Aditya Birla Capital, and ECom Express for its learning programs. It has also worked with universities such as SDA Bocconi in Milan and SPJIMR in Mumbai.
Speaking at the fundraise, Ankit Doshi, Creator of AltUni.in & InsideIIM said, “I am glad to partner with marquee angel investors who share the same passion for creating new-age learning content that is immersive and aligns with industry needs. We want to contribute towards making India the skills capital of the world.”
“We had made this announcement over a year back and we are going to achieve it ahead of schedule. Almost all major teams in the company are led by women. We believe that women leaders give AltUni and InsideIIM a foundational edge and we will go out of our way to hire more women,” Doshi further added.
