JWS Energy to acquire GMR’s 1050 MW thermal power plant for Rs 5,321 crore

JWS Energy has announced its plan to acquire GMR Energy Ltd’s 1,050 MW thermal power plant in Odisha for Rs 5,321 crore.

In a filing with the exchange on Monday, the company said that “It has signed a share purchase agreement with GMR Energy Ltd for acquiring its subsidiary ‘GMR Kamalanga Energy Ltd.’ that owns and operates 1050 MW (3×350 MW) thermal power in Odisha.”

“For Rs 5,321 crore, that subject to working capital and other adjustments,” the filing added.
