Multibhashi, an India based language learning platform has announced its partnership with the Government of India to launch a free language app called “BhashaSangam.”
As a part of the partnership, the BhashaSangam app will offer 22 Indian languages to users for free.
The app developer in its issued statement said, “MHRD and Mygov are going to launch an app named ‘BhashaSangam’ which has been developed in collaboration with Multibhashi to learn 22 Indian languages.”
The app will be launched by the Minister of Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship on 1st Nov 2021 via a virtual event.
Earlier in May 2021, the Government of India launched an app innovation challenge and invited entries from app developers across the country where 3 finalists were chosen to develop an app from scratch within 15 days that could teach basic sentences in 22 Indian languages on a single portal.
In August 2021, Multibhashi was announced as the first winner of this app challenge and secured the opportunity to launch an app on the national level in collaboration with MHRD and Mygov.
“App will feature two animated characters Bharat and Vaani who will come in 22 different avatars relevant to these 22 languages. The app creator also took the help of textile and fashion designers to develop their costumes and accessories which have been inspired by the cultures relevant to these 22 Indian languages,” the statement said.
The app also claims to include cultural bytes which bring the language learner closer to the culture to the language being learned.
“Along with this, the app also issues an e-certificate authorized by the Indian government to any app user who completes the entire language course and passes the certification test on the app successfully,” Statement said.
“The app will be free to use and is being promoted by the Government under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat mission. The app will be available to all users on Google Play Store as well as Apple App Store,” the statement further added.
