Eager to join the e-commerce race, Snapchat, on Monday, announced its partnership with Amazon.com that will allow the Snapchat users to shop directly using the messaging app. The product search on Amazon.com will be enabled through the Snapchat app’s camera.
The visual search function will allow Snapchat users to point the app’s camera at an item on the Amazon store and purchase it there and then.
“When the item or barcode is recognized, an Amazon card will appear on-screen, surfacing a link for that product or similar ones available on Amazon,” the company said on its blog post.
