A Mumbai-based, Ed-tech startup WhiteHat Jr has secured $10 million in series A round funding from Nexus Venture Partners, and Omidyar Network.
The new round funding, led by the Nexus Venture Partners, in the participation of Owl Ventures, “Will allow the company to use the latest round funding in strengthening its technology platform, adding course curriculum’s, and in branding and marketing.”
Speaking after the fund-raised, Karan Bajaj, CEO, WhiteHat, Jr said, “Our mission is to harness the natural creativity of kids, and shift their mindset from an early age from being consumers to creators of the technology.”
“It’s been heartening to see the projects of kids in the first six months of the launch as they are creating immensely creative high utility digital applications that are bound to have a long-term impact,” he added.
Talking on the investment, in WhiteHat Jr, Amit A Patel, MD, Owl Venture said, “This is our second investment in India, and the WhiteHat Jr has created something unique, scalable and very relevant not only in India but across other markets.”
