A U.S. based online ride-hailing company Uber Inc, on Saturday, announced that “It will be doubling its Indian workforce by next year.”
Uber currently has 500 employees in Bengaluru and Hyderabad office and it is planning to more than 1000 employees by next year in different departments like product managers, product designers, data scientist, user researchers, mobile, front -end and back end department as well as in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) experts.
Uber India, Head of Engineering, Apurva Dalal in its statement said “We see immense potential in India’s tech talent and have been expanding our India tech presence since the start of this year. In 2018, our tech teams grew by 150 percent, and we are focused on doubling down again in 2019.”
“Uber India tech centers in Bengaluru and Hyderabad are “critical” to Uber’s global mission of developing urban mobility solutions for everyone,” he said.
Commenting more on this, he said: “Techies are working on areas of customer engagement, rider access (next billion riders), Uber Eats, Maps, Marketplace, and Data platforms.”
