Typhoon Wutip, the first named storm of the 2025 Pacific typhoon season, lashed China’s Hainan province on Friday with strong winds and heavy rainfall, disrupting daily life and impacting flight operations across the region.
Authorities reported that several flights were delayed or cancelled, and transportation services experienced widespread disruption as the typhoon swept through the island province.

Wutip is now moving northward towards southern Guangdong province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. According to meteorological forecasts, the typhoon is expected to make landfall around noon on Saturday.
Local emergency services remain on high alert, and precautionary measures are being undertaken in the projected landfall zones to minimize potential damage.
