TechGraph: What inspired e-Sprinto to focus on e-vehicles, and how has the company evolved since its founding in response to market changes?

Atul Gupta: e-Sprinto is the culmination of a collective vision shared by Vinod Gupta, Shalu Gupta, and myself (Atul Gupta). We recognized the urgent need to transition from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to electric two-wheelers (E2W) to create a better and healthier future. Leveraging our years of expertise and acumen in this domain, our overarching vision for e-Sprinto is to become the leading brand in the electric-two-wheeler sector, a brand that people can trust and rely on.

We are committed to achieving this vision by delivering unwavering quality, outstanding service, and exceptional efficiency in everything we do. As a bootstrap startup, e-Sprinto has achieved remarkable progress since its inception. We are proud to have received and fulfilled more than 5000 orders to date. This early success is a testament to the strong demand for electric two-wheelers and the trust customers place in our brand.

TechGraph: What are some of the biggest advantages of e-vehicles over traditional bicycles, and how is e-Sprinto working to communicate those benefits to potential customers?

Atul Gupta: One of the biggest advantages of e-vehicles over traditional bicycles is the added convenience and ease of transportation. While traditional bicycles rely solely on human power, e-vehicles, such as e-Sprinto’s electric scooters, offer motorized assistance. This means riders can travel longer distances and tackle hilly terrain without excessive physical effort. Another advantage of e-vehicles is reduced commuting time.

With electric scooters like e-Sprinto, riders can reach their destinations faster than traditional bicycles. This is particularly beneficial for individuals who have long daily commutes or need to commute efficiently. EV two-wheelers also provide a more reliable and safe transportation option with the convenience of adjustable speeds, allowing riders to adapt to various road conditions and personal preferences.

At e-Sprinto, we effectively communicate the advantages of our electric scooters to potential customers through various channels. In our marketing campaigns and promotional materials, we emphasize the convenience, speed, and reliability of our electric scooters.

We highlight the comfortable and efficient commuting experience our scooters provide, showcasing features such as fast charging facilities and exceptionally low electric consumption of only 1.5 units per charge. This makes our scooters eco-friendly, affordable, and economical for Indian commuters.

Additionally, our pricing model of only 15/- per 100 km is unparalleled in the industry, offering exceptional value for customers. Through engaging advertisements, a strong social media presence, and informative content, we strive to effectively communicate these benefits, ensuring that potential customers are well-informed about the advantages of choosing e-Sprinto electric scooters for their transportation needs.

TechGraph: How does e-Sprinto ensure the quality and safety of its e-vehicles, and what steps does the company take to stay ahead of changing regulations and standards?

Atul Gupta: We ensure that the quality and safety of our e-vehicles are of paramount importance. We take several steps to maintain high standards and comply with regulations. Firstly, our manufacturing process follows strict quality control measures. We have implemented rigorous testing procedures and quality checks at every stage of production to ensure that our electric scooters meet the highest standards of safety and reliability. We use top-grade components and advanced technology to build durable and high-performance vehicles.

Secondly, we stay updated with the changing regulations and standards in the electric vehicle industry. Our team closely monitors regulatory bodies and industry associations to stay informed about any updates or changes to safety and quality requirements. We proactively adapt our manufacturing processes and product designs to meet these evolving standards, ensuring that our e-vehicles comply with all applicable regulations.

Additionally, we conduct extensive research and development activities to incorporate the latest safety features and technologies into our electric scooters. We prioritize cutting-edge safety systems, such as advanced braking mechanisms, robust suspension systems, and integrated safety controls. Our vehicles undergo thorough testing, including rigorous performance evaluations and safety assessments, to ensure reliability and safety on the road.

Furthermore, we collaborate with external experts, industry partners, and certification agencies to gain insights and guidance on safety and quality standards. This collaborative approach helps us stay ahead of the curve and continuously improve our vehicle’s safety features and performance.

TechGraph: How does e-Sprinto approach the design and engineering of its e-vehicles, and what innovations or features does the company believe set its products apart from competitors?

Atul Gupta: We approach the design and engineering of our e-vehicles with a strong commitment to innovation and customer-centricity. Our design philosophy revolves around creating electric scooters that cater to Indian commuters’ unique requirements. We meticulously study the needs and preferences of our target audience and incorporate their feedback into our product development process. One of the key aspects that set our products apart from competitors is our focus on integrating advanced components and smart technology.

We leverage cutting-edge engineering techniques and sustainable design principles to deliver superior quality and performance. Our electric scooters are equipped with features like a fast charging option, exceptionally low electric consumption, and industry-leading mileage at an affordable price point.

Furthermore, we prioritize durability, reliability, and style in our product designs, aligning with the highest global standards of excellence. We constantly strive to bring the latest innovations to the market, whether it’s in terms of battery technology, connectivity features, or rider safety systems.

TechGraph: How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected the e-vehicles market in India, and how has Esprinto responded to the challenges and opportunities presented by the pandemic?

Atul Gupta: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a substantial impact on the e-vehicle market in India, presenting both challenges and opportunities. On the one hand, the lockdowns and restrictions imposed during the pandemic led to a temporary slowdown in overall economic activity, including the automotive sector. This resulted in a decline in consumer demand for e-vehicles as people focused on essential needs and conserving financial resources.

However, the pandemic also brought about an increased emphasis on sustainability and environmental consciousness. As people became more aware of the importance of reducing pollution and carbon emissions, electric vehicles became a greener alternative to traditional vehicles. This shift in mindset created an opportunity for e-Sprinto to showcase the benefits of its electric scooters and tap into the growing demand for sustainable transportation options.

To respond to the pandemic challenges and opportunities, e-Sprinto implemented several strategic measures. We adapted our operations to comply with health and safety guidelines, ensuring our employee’s and customers’ well-being. We also intensified our digital marketing efforts and strengthened our online presence to reach potential customers who relied more on online platforms during the pandemic.

Additionally, we introduced attractive financing options and promotional offers to make our electric scooters more affordable and accessible to customers facing financial constraints. This helped to stimulate demand and encourage e-vehicles adoption despite the economic uncertainties caused by the pandemic. Furthermore, we focused on expanding our dealership network and strengthening partnerships with distributors and retailers to enhance our market reach and provide convenient access to our products.

TechGraph: What are some of the biggest misconceptions or misunderstandings about e-vehicles, and how is e-Sprinto working to address those misconceptions?

Atul Gupta: One of the biggest misconceptions about e-vehicles is their range and battery life. Some people believe that electric vehicles have limited range and may not be suitable for long-distance travel. However, e-Sprinto is actively working to address this misconception by highlighting battery technology advancements and the extended range of our electric scooters.

We emphasize the mileage capabilities of our vehicles and provide transparent information about the range they can achieve on a single charge. Another common misunderstanding is the perceived lack of charging infrastructure for e-vehicles. People often believe that finding charging stations can be challenging and time-consuming.

To address this, e-Sprinto is actively working to expand the network of charging stations across India. We collaborate with various partners and stakeholders to establish more charging points at convenient locations. This makes it easier for our customers to recharge their vehicles and enjoy uninterrupted journeys.

There is also a misconception that e-vehicles are expensive compared to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. However, e-Sprinto is committed to offering affordable and cost-effective electric scooters. We communicate the value proposition of our products, emphasizing long-term fuel savings and reduced maintenance expenses. By highlighting the competitive pricing and low operational costs of our electric scooters, we aim to dispel the misconception that e-vehicles are financially inaccessible.

Moreover, some people believe that e-vehicles may not provide the same acceleration and speed as conventional vehicles. To address this, e-Sprinto focuses on engineering high-performance electric scooters that deliver a thrilling and dynamic riding experience. We highlight the power and torque capabilities of our vehicles, demonstrating that electric scooters can offer impressive performance without compromising sustainability.
