Coronavirus Update: Saudi Arabia tightens a nationwide curfew

After reporting the second death of a 46-year-old foreign resident in Mecca due to a novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Saudi Arabia on Wednesday called to tighten its nationwide curfew.

According to the local state media report, “Saudi King Slam has approved the order to impose the curfew in the three cities from 3 P.M to 7 P.M. starting on Thursday.”

“The curfew also includes the restriction of entry and exit from the Riyadh (Capital) and the holy cities of Mecca and Medina as well as movements between all provinces,” the report said.

Earlier on Monday, Saudi Arabia imposed a 21-day curfew in the region.
