Zomato acquires Feeding India, aims to serve food to 100 million underprivileged every month

India’s leading online food delivery company, Zomato, on Monday, announced the acquisition of ‘Feeding India’ a not for profit organization which serves meals to more than 1.1 million underprivileged each month.”

In a statement, the company said that “The acquisition of Feeding India will allow the company to pay the salary of the feeding India’s entire team and will also fund in some of its core initiatives.”

“Zomato will also pay for the development of “Feedi.ng” app, an app which will connect donors and volunteers at a scale never seen before,” the statement added.

Talking more on the acquisition, the company didn’t mention the deal amount but, the company said that “In the spirit of transparency, the company will publish the quarterly financial report on its website.” “And expecting to release its first Feeding Global -Financial Transparency Report by October 2019,” the statement added.
