Jeff Bezos said, “Why? Because I think it’s important for this planet and the dynamism of future generations, and sometimes I deeply care about the planet, and I have been thinking about all my life.”

In an interview with the Norah, Bezos said, “You don’t choose your passions, your passions choose you, and I was fascinated about the space when I was a child and watching astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong they land on the moon, and I think that developing space technologies is critical for human beings to have a long future.”

“We as the humans have to go to space if we are going to continue to have a thriving civilization like this,” Bezos said. “We as a population and as the species have become big, and the planet is small, and as We are in the process of destroying our planet, then we see in the things like climate change and pollution and heavy industry,” he added.

Bezos added, “We have sent the robotic probes to every planet in the solar system, which is a good one. So we have to preserve this planet.”

Speaking more on this, Bezos said “We have sent things up into space, which made on earth. But it would be much more cheaper and simpler to make a really complicated things like microprocessors and everything in space and then send those highly complex manufactured objects back down on the earth, so that we don’t have to have big factories and pollution generating industries that make those things now on the earth, which can make earth a zoned residential.”

Talking to CBS on the space journey and it’s a reality, Bezos also said that “It would take multiple generations and hundreds of years to get into the reality, but the Blue Origin is working to develop the technology that will make it possible.”

And, while speaking on the John Glenn, the American astronaut to orbit the Earth, Bezos said that “A few months before he passed away, he wrote the most beautiful letter to me, which I have framed in my office, and it is significant to me.”

Bezos added “Glenn in a letter said, he saw a future when we would board spacecraft like jetliners and when it happens it will be large because of your epic achievements.”

“Which I think that it is entirely believable too,” Bezos added. Adding more on this, Bezos said, “If you went hundred years back and told people today that you would be able to buy a ticket and fly across the world on a jetliner, they would think that you are crazy. But that’s the kind of change that can happen in just 100 years or less.”

“The first step in the journey is the space tourism, and Blue Origin is already started testing its vehicle, the New Shepherd, to take a human into space for short tourism trips,” Bezos said.

Bezos said, “Everybody who goes to space says they come back with a little change, and they realize that how beautiful this planet is and how small and fragile it is, and Yes, Something that we can’t see when we are down here, but from up there it becomes obvious.”
