According to the new economic survey 2020, tabled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in parliament said, that “It takes more documents to start a restaurant business in Delhi as compared to document needed for a license to buy a gun.”
“Apart from 26 mandatory licenses, the entrepreneur required to obtain ‘Police Eating House License’ from Delhi Police for opening a restaurant in Delhi. For police license 45 documents are needed,” the survey said.
“Same in the Bengaluru, where 36 approved licenses are required to open the restaurant. Higher than other countries like China, and Singapore where only four documents are required,” the survey added.
Adding to it the survey further said, “Despite the increase in gun violence in Delhi-NCR, one can easily apply for a firearm license by summiting 19 basic documents as fitness certificate from medico, address proof, Income Tax slip, etc.”
“The process was simplified further last year when the Delhi Police launched an online service for applicants,” it added.
