Google CEO Sunder Pichai to Testify Before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee

As per sources, Google CEO Sunder Pichai has agreed to testify before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee later this year over Republican concerns that the search engine is biased towards the conservatives.

Republicans have demanded probe into Google – the search engine of Alphabet Inc. – algorithm accusing that it is influenced by human bias. More than that, they also want to question Google’s privacy controls as well as the classification of news and opinions.

Pichai met White House economic advisor Larry Kudlow and White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters on Friday to discuss a range of issues impacting internet platforms and the economy overall.

In an internal e-mail last week, Pichai wrote that the accusations of manipulating political news are absolutely false. “We do not bias our products to favor any political agenda,” Pichai added.
