American multinational technology conglomerate, Cisco Inc (NASDAQ: CSCO) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Pete Shimer to its board of directors with the immediate effects.
Shimer currently serves on the boards of Alaska Airlines, Korn Ferry and Synopsys, and is Executive Chair of the Cancer Artificial Intelligence Alliance. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of Washington.

Shimer spent over four decades at Deloitte, where he held senior leadership roles across enterprise transformation, corporate development and strategic planning. During his tenure, he served in multiple C-suite positions including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and interim Chief Executive Officer.
