India’s leading private lender Bandhan Bank has announced its strategic partnership with the Odisha Government to enhance payment solutions for Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) Ltd.
The strategic partnership aims to introduce improved convenience for tourists and streamline payment processes.
As a part of this partnership, Bandhan Bank has introduced Point of Sale (PoS) machines at key tourist destinations including Puri, Bhubaneshwar, Konark, Chilka, and Gopalpur. The integration of these PoS machines is set to expedite payment collections from tourists, streamlining the process for both visitors and OTDC officials.
Furthermore, the implementation of Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machines is anticipated to mitigate revenue loss for OTDC, which can sometimes arise due to tourists carrying limited cash.
This initiative also aligns with the national objective of transitioning toward a more cashless economy.
Commenting on the development, Shantanu Sengupta, Head Of Retail Banking at Bandhan Bank, said, “Odisha has been an important market for Bandhan Bank over the years. We’re happy to partner with the Odisha Government in bringing convenient payment solutions to the tourists of the state. At Bandhan Bank, we are committed to being a bank for all and this endeavor is another step in that direction.”
