India’s multi-national construction company, Larsen & Toubro also known as (L&T) has announced that it’s heavy civil infrastructure business of its construction arm has secured the largest business contract from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.
In a filing at Bombay Stock Exchange, L&T said that “Its heavy civil infrastructure business a business arm of L&T Construction has secured a design and construction of the phase -2 work order from Bangalore Metro Rail Construction Ltd.”
Whereas the company didn’t mention the exact deal amount for the construction, but according to the project classification the amount of the contract is in the valuing between Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 crore.
The company in its filing said “The construction deal from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd, mainly includes the construction of 2.76 km long underground structures of tunnels and stations from Vellara Junction station to Shivajinagar station and three other UG Metro Stations at Vellara Junction, MG Road and Shivajinagar on the Reach-6 line.
The company also added, “The project also includes the design and construction of 2.884 km long underground tunnels and stations structures from Shivajinagar Station to Tannery Road Station and two other UG Metro stations at Cantonment and Pottery Town on the same metro rail line, which is expected to get completed in 42 months.”
