IIT Roorkee opens new drone research center in its campus

IIT Roorkee on Friday said, “It has opened a state-of-the-art center for drone research at its campus.”

In a statement issued, IIT Roorkee said seed funding of Rs 1.38 crore from its alumni for this initiative.”

“Inaugurated at the virtual event in the presence of NITI Aayog Member & Former Director V K Saraswat. The initiative aims to foster cutting edge research and innovation in the drone segment,” the statement said.

Adding to the statement, IIT Roorkee further said, “The center is envisaged to evolve as a unique facility at the national level. Wherein state of the art and frontier research would be conducted on several aspects of drone technology, including drone development, drone application and anti drone technology.”
