Mumbai Police on Tuesday arrested an 18-year-old girl named Shweta Singh from Uttarakhand, in connection with its ongoing investigation in the Bulli Bai app case where hundreds of photos of Muslim women were auctioned for sale.
She is a second accused who was arrested by the Mumbai Police in connection with the controversial app case.
Earlier Mumbai Police detained Vishal Kumar, a 21-year-old civil engineering student from Bengaluru, and formally arrested him on Tuesday, after 8 hours of questioning. He was later sent to police custody for 10 days by a Bandra Court.
According to the reports, “The girl is a class 12th pass out, and the main accused in the case.”
She has been produced before a local judge in Udham Singh Nagar District who granted transit remand to take her to Mumbai for further investigation.
