In a move aimed at strengthening economic and strategic ties, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and South Korean President Lee Jae Myung signed multiple agreements in Seoul covering agriculture, business, healthcare, and other sectors.
The two leaders oversaw the signing of 10 memorandums of understanding covering trade and industrial policy, critical minerals, the digital economy, including artificial intelligence, agriculture, health and biotechnology, small business exchanges, and coordinated action against cybercrime, narcotics trafficking, and other cross-border crimes.
Among the key outcomes was a memorandum on regulatory cooperation in the health sector, which President Lee said would help streamline approval processes and reduce barriers for South Korean beauty and cosmetic products entering South American markets.
The move comes as Seoul looks to build on its position as a leading global cosmetics exporter, while Brazil continues to rank among the largest beauty and personal care markets worldwide.
