Arianna Huffington, Matt Cohler resigns from Uber board.

Uber Inc, a U.S. based ride-hailing app on Wednesday announced the departure of “Arianna Huffington and Matt Cohler from the Uber’s board of director’s post.”

In a filing at SEC, Arianna said that “She doesn’t think she can devote her time as being the Uber board member, due to the expansion of her own company business.”

“Given Thrive’s growth, it has become clear to me that I will no longer be able to give my Uber board duties the attention they deserve. So I will be stepping down,” she said.

“It has been an unforgettable three-year ride, and I’m grateful to have been able to work alongside. My fellow board members and witness the incredible work of thousands of Uber employees around the world,” Arianna added.

Adding on Arianna’s departure, Ron Sugar, the Independent Chairman, Uber, said, “Arianna has been a dynamic and invaluable board member, and we are grateful for her service at Uber.”

“I understand her decision to devote more of her energy to Thrive Global, and we remain excited to see her continued progress.”

Whereas, Matt ’didn’t give any specific resign of her resignation.

But, Matt in his statement filed at SEC said that “My partners at Benchmark and I had the privilege of being the part of the Uber’s journey since the Series A nearly a decade ago. I’m thrilled with the company’s position and excited for the road ahead and extend my deepest thanks to all of the ’Uber’s past and present employees, directors, drivers, and customers.”

Commenting on the departure of its two directors, Uber in its statement said that “Both the departures were not the results of any disagreements.”
