The Union Minister for Road Transportation and Highways and MSMEs, Nitin Gadkari has launched a cow dung paint named ‘Khadi Prakritik Paint.’
“The paint is developed by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, and it is first of its kind of product based on the cow dung as the Main Ingredient. The paint has been certified by Bureau of India Standard,” the statement said.
“Khadi Prakritik Paint is available in two forms – distemper and plastic emulsion paint. The production of paint is aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of increasing farmers’ income,” the statement said.
“The paint comes with anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties, it is free from heavy metals like mercury, chromium, arsenic, and cadmium. It is expected to boost local manufacturing and create sustainable local employment through technology transfer,” it added.
“This technology will increase the consumption of cow dung as a raw material for eco-friendly products and will generate additional revenue of Rs 30,000 (approx) per annum to farmers, and gaushalas,” the statement said.
