Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the Union Government has announced to decrease the cooking gas price by Rs 200 ($2.40) per 14.2 kg cylinder for around 300 million families in the country.

Addressing the media, Union Minister for Information & Broadcast Anurag Thakur said, “All the domestic consumers of LPG cylinders will get Rs 200 subsidy per cylinder, whereas the consumers under the PM Ujwala scheme will get this subsidy on top of the existing subsidy.”
With this, the beneficiaries under PM Ujwala will receive Rs 400 ($4.80) in subsidy.
