In a bid to stop the further spread of the novel coronavirus, Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government has announced the extension of the lockdown in the state till July 31.

According to the PTI report, “The decision was taken after attending the all-party meeting held at an auditorium adjacent to the state secretariat.”
“Mamata Banerjee said, as there were differences of opinion among the leaders, it has finally decided to extend the lockdown till the end of July with relaxations,” the report said.
The earlier lockdown was to end on 30 June 2020.
