Indusface, a leading application security provider for SaaS solutions, has launched CyberShiksha, a national initiative to improve cybersecurity awareness among students.
India has emerged as a global hotspot for cyber risks affecting children. A 2022 McAfee report highlighted that 85% of Indian children have encountered cyberbullying, the highest rate worldwide. Other studies show that a significant portion of students are exposed to threats such as identity theft, financial scams, and online harassment, pointing to a critical need for structured education on digital safety.
Through CyberShiksha, Indusface has reached over 6,000 students across schools, delivering practical lessons on online safety, recognizing phishing attempts, and understanding basic cyber laws. The sessions also cover actionable steps like creating secure passwords and using multi-factor authentication to mitigate risks.
Speaking on the initiative, Nandini Tandon, Co-Founder & CPO at Indusface said, “As cyber threats evolve, our responsibility to protect younger generations becomes increasingly critical. Through CyberShiksha, we are creating awareness and fostering a proactive approach to online safety. By equipping students with the right knowledge and tools, we aim to build a resilient and cyber-aware generation.”
In addition to students, teachers and school staff members have acknowledged the positive impact of these sessions on their cybersecurity awareness. Educators have found that CyberShiksha equips them with new perspectives and practical tips to help protect themselves and their students.
“The CyberShiksha session was an eye-opener not only for the students but for us as well. We learned about security practices we can implement in our lives and pass on to our students. CyberShiksha is more than just an awareness program—it’s an essential toolkit for today’s digital age,” R. Kumar, a teacher at Cygnus World School added.
CyberShiksha also aims to inspire students to explore careers in cybersecurity, introducing them to potential pathways from basic certifications to advanced degrees.
