Toyota Motors, a Japanese automaker giant, has started using the Tesla designed Panasonic batteries for its newly launched plug-in hybrids sedans.
In a report published on Friday, the Nikkei, reported: “Toyota is using the Panasonic cylindrical batteries for its Corolla, and  Levin plug-in hybrid sedan launched in China this year.”
The report added, “As Toyota is struggling to secure stable-supplies of high-quality batteries to meet the growing demands. The company has ordered more than 50,000 of the cylindrical batteries from Panasonic.”
The newspaper added, “After the order for cylindrical batteries from Toyota, the Panasonic’s battery plant in Osaka is boosting on full capacity.”
