Paytm, an India-based online wallet on Friday announced that “The company has seen 600 percent growth in UPI (Unified Payments Interface) transactions.
In a blog post, the company said: “It is encouraging to see the widespread adoption of Paytm BHIM UPI for various services such as mobile recharges, electricity and water hills, metro commute and also in offline stores.”

Adding to this, the company said: “We are excited to announce that we are currently the leading contributor to UPI payments in the country, with over 179 Million UPI transactions in October’18, and the highest concentration of nation-wide UPI users. We have also witnessed 600% Growth in UPI Transactions in the last 6 months.”

“Over 6 million out of our 9.5 million offline merchant-based accept Paytm UPI for purchases. With this, we have over 80% share of all offline merchant transactions conducted on UPI,” it added.
