In an aim expand the smart home gadgets business, A U.S. based e-commerce giant Amazon Inc is planning to acquire ‘Eero‘ a wifi device maker for an undisclosed amount.
Amazon did not say how much it is going to for Eero but according to the media reports “The deal is expected to be complete within the first half of this year.
Founded in 2014, Eero is a San Francisco based wifi device maker which allow the users to connect to the Wi-Fi through its device throughout a home.
Dave Limp, SVP of Amazon Devices and Services in its statement said that “We are incredibly impressed with the Eero team and how quickly they invented a Wi-Fi solution that makes connected devices just work.”
“We have a shared vision that the smart home experience can get even easier, and we’re committed to continually innovating on behalf of customers,” Dave added.
Talking about the deal, Nick Weaver, Co-Founder, and CEO of Eero said “From the beginning, Eero’s mission has to make the technology in a home to work.
“And by joining the Amazon family, we’re excited to learn from and work closely with a team that is defining the future of the home, accelerate our mission, and bring Eero systems to more customers around the globe,” he added.
