The United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer has requested Iran to avoid retaliation after Israel conducted airstrikes on several military sites in Tehran overnight.

Speaking at the press conference in Samoa, the prime minister said, “Israel has the right to defend itself against Iranian aggression. I’m equally clear that we must avoid further regional escalation and urge all sides to restrain.”
