Based on the 8 nm LPP (Low Power Plus) FinFET process, the latest Exynos 9820 is an upgrade from the 10 nm Exynos 9810.
Samsung has integrated a variety of advanced specifications involving the implementation of the 4th Gen CPU with 2 custom cores for increased and speed efficient processing power, 2 Cortex-A-75 cores for enhanced performance and a third cluster of 4 Cortex-A-55 units, solely for efficiency.
It also has the LTE Advanced Pro modem which is another step towards 5G chipsets with 2Gbps downlink speeds.
In brief, the technical specs include- 8x CA and 316 Mbps uplink, an LTE -A Cat.20 8CA and Cat.20 3CA modem, NPU and ARM Mali G76 MP12 GPU. It relies on a 4×4 MIMO, 256-QMA and Elena tech for superb speed.
The GPU side delivers a 40% performance and provides a longer usage of VR and AR applications. The NPU is the separate unit that makes the AI processes about 7 times faster.
It is also an assistant to the camera, allowing better clarity and focus on the product.
This is expected to be in Samsung’s mass production by the end of this year, meaning it should be ready for the Galaxy S10 launch leaving Samsung fans more excited than ever about counting down till the new year begins.
