Esri India, the country’s leading provider of Geographic Information System (GIS) Software & Solutions, has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ideaForge to accelerate drone adoption across various industries in India.
The collaboration between Esri India and ideaForge will empower users to deploy drone solutions integrated with GIS, enabling them to address complex challenges in sectors such as architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), forestry, agriculture, mining, transportation, utilities, and defense.
Drone users in India often face difficulties engaging multiple vendors for their hardware, software, training, and service requirements. Moreover, the shortage of skilled personnel poses an additional obstacle. This new partnership seeks to alleviate these concerns by providing comprehensive solutions under one umbrella.
By joining forces, Esri India and ideaForge will enable users to seamlessly integrate drone videos and photos into advanced GIS applications. The collaboration will facilitate the establishment of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows while also developing solutions for motion imagery and live streaming, among other functionalities.
In addition to streamlining processes for individual users, the partnership will assist enterprises and government agencies in meeting their essential drone-based requirements, encompassing both drone flying and GIS. This unified approach will reduce complexity and foster higher drone adoption rates throughout the country.
Speaking about the partnership, Agendra Kumar, Managing Director Esri India said, “As drone use increases, there arises a need for integrated solutions that can provide a complete, end-to-end workflow for acquiring and processing drone imagery, processing the data, and gathering useful insights from the same for informed decision-making.”
“Esri India’s partnership with ideaForge will help drone users benefit from such integrated solutions, including Drones & GIS, curated by leaders in their respective fields. The bundled solution will help users achieve time- and cost-effective drone data collection, processing, and analysis. We plan to provide extensive training support,” he added.
Further talking about the development, Ankit Mehta, CEO of ideaForge stated, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Esri India. This collaboration will assist ideaForge and Esri India in designing an integrated drone and GIS software solution for the Indian market. Through this collaboration, ideaForge and Esri India can offer GIS software with ideaForge products to various customers in India via integrated solutions.”
