To increase the presence of Cloud business in Europe, Alibaba on Monday announced that “It has opened the two new data centers in U.K.”

The new facilities, both in London, are the first in the UK to be made available to the Chinese technology giant, providing their business customers in the region around the clock with security and technical support, as well as real-time monitoring.

A spokesman for Alibaba Cloud said, “the move was part of the expansion of the cloud division in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).”

“As part of our commitment to further expand into Europe and the EMEA region, we are introducing two additional availability zones in addition to our existing locations in Frankfurt and Dubai,” said the spokesperson.

“Our choice of location is driven by fast-growing consumer demand in the UK.”

Alibaba said, “the advantage of having two data centers in one location is the ability to recover or maintain the critical IT infrastructure in the event of a disaster.”

” And We are also working with many global and local partners to make sure we are offering best-in-class technologies, services and consulting to customers,” it added.

With the launch of this two new data-center, Alibaba’s cloud unit has 52 data center zones across 19 different regions and plans on expanding further.
