The Uttar Pradesh police have filed an FIR against the Founder & CEO of IndiaMART (an e-commerce site), and two others for selling rocks of Govardhan Hills Online.
Speaking to the press on Sunday, Shirish Chandra, SP (Rural), Uttar Pradesh, India, said, “An FIR has filed under section 265 of Indian Penal Code and section 66 of Information Technology Act, against IndiaMART founder & CEO Dinesh Agarwal, Co-founder Brajesh Agarwal, and Mathura based supplier Ankur Agarwal for inciting religious feeling of people’s by misusing the facility of information technology,”
“The FIR was logged by Mathura based Social worker Keshav Mukhia at Govardhan police station,” he said.
“Ten more FIR on the same issue has been filed at the same police station, and have been clubbed for single probe,” it added.
According to the Police, “The website claimed that the rocks were natural and was for sale for Rs 5,175 per piece.”
