While speaking with reporters on Wednesday, IT minister at Government of India, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that “the IT sector has created nearly to 8.73 lakhs new jobs inside the country.”
Quoting to the apex industry data, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that “The IT sector has spawned 8.73 lakh jobs in the past five years under the government led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Adding to this, he said, “The country currently provides employment to 41.01 lakh person in the direct sector while 1.2 crore employment in the indirect sector.”
Talking on the Jobs crisis barb raised by the Oppositions, Prasad questioned Congress to show how many jobs they have created during their tenure.
He said, “One can talk on the facts but not on the falsehoods and if the Congress party is so keen, can they show their record on how many employees during the ten years of UPA tenure when the economy was down and India was the epic center of impropriety and corruption.”
“If the economy is 7.4 percent plus if the national highways are being constructed, if the manufacturing is picking up, and if India’s economy is globally recognized, that means that country is creating more and more jobs,” he added.
