As Covid-19 has caused a wave of fear among people for over a year now. While the vaccination has renewed hopes of countering the pandemic, it has also led to unprecedented and significant pressure on the country’s healthcare systems. Additionally, people are also skeptical of getting vaccinated due to the overwhelming crowd in hospitals, which can make them contract this fatal virus.
In a bid to provide a solution to this first-of-its-kind situation, Park+, India’s leading provider of automated smart parking solutions, has organized a Drive-Through vaccination in DLF Mall of India, Noida on May 17, 2021, to enable citizens to maintain social distancing by getting vaccinated in the safety of their cars. The initiative, launched in association with Gautam Budh Nagar administration and DLF Mall of India, will allow citizens to get vaccinated between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the mall, through prior appointments. The booking can be done on Co-WIN portals, from the comfort of their homes.
The no-charge initiative is offering the first dose of vaccination to anybody above 45 years of age. The day-long pop-up center has been launched to provide safety to people who can now get vaccinated without even stepping foot outside, as well as to aid hospitals in distributing the load. Park+ has successfully organized camps in Gurugram at three locations – Ambience mall, DLF City center, and DLF Cyber hub.
Park+ is helping State Healthcare Departments across the country to conduct vaccination drives inside parking lots of shopping malls. The leading provider of automated smart parking solutions is planning to expand this initiative to 10 locations in the city, subject to vaccine availability.
Leading malls across the country, including Inorbit Malls, are in talks with Park+ to set up the least contact Drive-Through Vaccination Camps in their premises. Aiming for the outreach of 2 lakh doses per day, Park+ is looking to replicate this model in multiple locations in 15 cities. This initiative comes on the heels of the startup already setting up contactless parking solutions to avoid contracting the disease.
Speaking on the initiative, Amit Lakhotia, Founder of Park+, said, “We are a socially responsible organization and realized the potential of offering our services to contribute to the COVID vaccination efforts of the city. With this no-charge drive-through initiative, we hope to expedite the vaccination process across the country. We are planning a completely seamless vaccination drive for Noida, as we attempt to make the citizens feel safe and secure by not stepping out of their vehicles.”
