Briefing the press on Sunday, UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Rabb announced that, “The Government would spend up to £75 million to get stranded Britons back home.”
Adding to the statement, Rabb said, “Where commercial flights are no longer running, the government has partnered with airlines like British Airways, EasyJet, Virgin, Jet2 and Titan to bring our nationals back home.”
“We’ve allocated £75 million to support those flights and airlines to keep the cost down and affordable for those seeking to return to the UK,” he said.
