Dubai-based hacker group OurMine on Friday hacked the Twitter accounts of Facebook and Messenger and posted on social media by stating, “Even Facebook account is hackable.”
Though the accounts have now been restored.
This group has a history of hacking several social media accounts of brands, sports organizations, and celebs like this for many years.
Previously, OurMine hacked the accounts of teams in the US National Football League, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai, Netflix and many more.
Quoting to the Twitter statement, the BBC said, “As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we have locked the compromised accounts and are closely working with our partners at Facebook to restore them.”
Facebook in its statement said, “Some of our corporate social accounts were briefly hacked but we have secured and restored the access.”
Whereas, CNET in its report said, “Hacker used a third-party platform called Khoros to access the account.”
Khoros is a customer engagement platform that provides social media marketing solutions for businesses and brands.
