U.S based online gaming giant Electronic Arts (EA) has announced the acquisition of Glu Mobile for $2.1 billion.
EA in its press release said, “Under the terms of the agreement, EA will acquire Glu Mobile for $2.1 billion in enterprise value.”
Speaking on the acquisition, Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts said, “Our acquisition of Glu combines amazing products to create a mobile games leaders with proven expertise across many fast-growing generics.”
“Mobile continues to grow as the biggest gaming platform around the world, and with the addition of Glu’s games and talents. We are doubling the size of our mobile business with a deep IP portfolio, and an expanding global audience we’ll deliver a more existing experience for our players and drive further growth of EA,” he said.
The acquisition is expected to close by the end of June.
