The Union Ministry of Housing Affairs asks IISc to design data site for Smart cities

The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on Wednesday has asked the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to design a data site for the exchange among smart cities.

The Ministry in its statement has said that “It has asked IISc to lead the effort to create a data exchange platform for smart cities through collaboration with industry, NGO’s and government agencies.”

The statement also said that “The city administrators and officials are looking at leveraging the volume of data being generated by smart sensors deployed in their cities to improve their operational excellence.”

About Smart Cities:

The Smart cities mission is an initiative which was started by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi in 2015 to develop 100 smart cities in India.
